About self-guided walking

A self guided walking holiday is one of the best ways to explore our fantastic countryside on foot, you can walk at your own pace, stopping whenever and wherever you like. Moving from one place to the next, something new to discover everyday and no two days are ever the same. We give you the most comprehensive information on points of interest along the route, you can therefore get the most out of your holiday. As you are not beholden to anyone else you can linger longer in a pretty village or really investigate that historical site or just take your time over a coffee.

All you need to take with you is a Day pack with essential items, waterproofs, camera – Kendal Mint Cake!! Not having to carry a heavy rucksack filled with all your holiday stuff is a monumental relief, that’s how they used to do it in the old days... You are safe in the knowledge that when you arrive at your next accommodation establishment, your luggage will be there waiting for you.

Your accommodation will be booked for you; we use local B & B’s, Inn’s, Hotels and farm houses which have been carefully chosen for their top quality services. The most important factor that we look for is the friendliness and helpfulness of our partners to make sure our guests get the most amazing experience. Sometimes we may have to book our customers in accommodation that is a little off the trail, this could be due to many different circumstances – but don’t worry we will provide transport to and from the trail, so that your walking journey is not interrupted.

All accommodation provided is on a bed and breakfast basis, this is due to the nature of the holiday and allowing the customer to choose where and when they eat and at what times etc. We can pre-book evening meals for anyone that chooses although this will involve an extra charge. If there are no facilities or services to stop for lunch, then a packed lunch will be provided by the accommodation establishment.

We provide detailed route guides and maps, book your accommodation, move your luggage, tell you the best way to get to and from your holiday and the best bits about it, and anything else you can think of. In short we take care of everything and all the little details; all you have to do is enjoy your holiday.

The beauty of a self –guided walking holiday is that it totally flexible and can be created to suit every individual, YOU ARE THE BOSS. If you want to stay longer in any place or take a little longer walking or add nights on to the end or start of the holiday – then it’s all possible, just ask us!!
