In this short break you get to find out why Beverley is one of the most visited and popular market towns in the East Riding. Its cobbled streets and cosmopolitan atmosphere is a magnet for tourists from all over the country. Beverley can boast to have one of the finest church’s in England, the Minster, built in the 11th century it is a magnificent structure and a gothic masterpiece. Its quaint and antique shops are not out of place in this medieval market town, Georgian townhouses surround the medieval North Bar built in 1409 that leads to Beverley Westwood. Acres of pasture land that you and cattle are free to roam at your leisure, sitting on the edge of the Westwood is the racecourse, one of the oldest flat racing courses in the UK. If you have an interest in the art world, follow the Elwell trail, a series of 22 painting dotted around the town in recognition of the eminent RA artist.
